Canada in the Snow
I have been lucky enough to travel to Canada on three different trips. One of the most enjoyable was winter in the Canadian Rockies. It certainly was cold, especially coming from our hot climate, but it was a great deal of fun. Dressing in many layers was the order of the day, as it was essential to be able to disrobe once you were in the central heating.
Canada is a picturesque country at any time, but winter is very special. From the snow-covered Banff Springs Hotel to the frozen Lake Louise, there was a wonder around every corner. Vancouver is a thriving city with plenty to do, even in the winter months. We walked across frozen lakes in snowshoes, tried our hand at skiing, saw Santa and his reindeer, sampled the spicy hot wine that’s popular there, and travelled by train through the magnificent Rockies.
If you want a different type of holiday, I can highly recommend Canada in winter.
